English Literature I

Reading, Discussion, and Writing: English Literature I provides a more complex study of basic functions that will allow the use of writing processes and methods of communication to produce meaningful and appropriate documents. Students will learn proper research methods, investigate narratives, sample various events in European history, and develop problem-solving skills that come from learned writers. Students will broaden their association with a variety of literature to include prose, poetry, drama, fiction, and non-fiction. This is the time of cultural conflict, and the literature of the era depicts those situations that were thought distasteful to discuss. It also speaks of the people who endured and came out victorious. Incorporated in this lesson will be attention to grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. Students will be guided through Servanthood, Stewardship, Scholarship, and Statesmanship to become true soldiers and examples of Christianity. (This course is also offered through our concurrent credit program.) Meets a Journey Deeper requirement
