Catalog description
Explores the history of early childhood education including theoretical models and different approaches to early childhood education nationally and globally. Provides an opportunity for students to analyze current and historical trends in early childhood education with a focus on social justice, culturally responsive pedagogies and anti-bias education. Students will be given the opportunity to develop skills needed for their own career goals including infant and toddler programs, preschool programs, kindergarten and primary education, youth ministry, child psychology, and other careers with children under eight. This course utilizes a balance between examination and application of theory with multiple opportunities for students to develop and practice holistic learning opportunities designed for young children; prepare to get creative and messy
