Catalog description

This course is a continuation of Nursing Care of the Adult I and II and focuses on the nursing care of clients with cardiac and neurological disorders, cancer and the critically ill. There is also a focus on development of basic management skills to provide nursing care for groups of clients. Finally, the student will explore the transition from student to practicing nurse. The emphasis is on the role of the A.D. nurse, as manager of client care and member within the profession of nursing. The clinical component provides the student the opportunity to apply theoretical content in acute care settings. Advanced psychomotor skills are taught in the campus lab and utilized in the clinical setting.
