Catalog description

Intermediate concepts of medical-surgical nursing is the first of a series of adult health nursing courses. This course provides for the acquisition and application of basic medical/surgical nursing theory incorporating communication, collaboration, caring and clinical reasoning/nursing judgment necessary for safe, patient-centered nursing care to diverse adult patients experiencing acute and chronic illnesses. Nursing care of patients experiencing surgery, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, and disorders involving the respiratory, endocrine, and hepatobiliary systems is explored.
