Catalog description

This course provides an overview of architecture and architectural design from prehistoric times to the present day including the factors that have influenced design. The course introduces architectural styles, design elements, building systems, materials, methods of construction, and procedures pertaining to architecture. Students will learn how geography, climate, availability of materials, financial and political trends, and innovations in technology have affected architecture and construction over time.
