designed for EMS personnel to improve and enhance their ability to handle life-threatening trauma scenarios when seconds matter. The EMS provider is not capable of controlling every aspect of the emergency scene but the manner of response can be controlled and coordinated. This skills-intensive training session provides a comparison of traditional trauma patient assessment and treatment vs. trauma patient assessment and treatment in a potentially hostile scene. Includes an introduction to new concepts in bleeding control, initial patient management of airway, breathing and hypothermia emergencies related to trauma. Discussions on these EMS topic areas will be highlighted through the use of interactive training and patient scenarios. Designed to expose the EMS personnel to priority concepts of trauma care with the goal of improving patient outcomes.
