This course is designed for students planning to enter a health related field of study or public service occupations. The course focuses on the sources of communicable diseases and describes methods for prevention of transmission of bloodborne and airborne pathogens. Topics include prevention; universal precautions (body-substance isolation) and asepsis; immunization; exposure control; disposal; labeling; transmission; exposure determination; post-exposure reporting; and an exposure control plan
