Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to the various types of psychological disorders in psychological science, including anxiety and mood disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia, sexual dysfunction/somatic symptom disorders, and substance-related and addictive disorders. The course addresses the way psychopathology is conceptualized, diagnosed, and treated. You will make critical appraisals of current diagnostic systems and consider the cultural and social contexts of “normal” and “abnormal” behavior and its clinical application.
