3310 (EDSP 3310). 3 hours. Overview of disability types and the unique academic needs of students with disabilities. This includes the history and legal foundation of special education, the educator's role in the referral process, development of the IEP, participation in ARD committee meetings, effective educational practices, Child Find, LRE, and FAPE as required by federal and state law will be examined. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 2301. Course Typically Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
