4840. 3 hours. (0;0;3) This course is taken during the semester immediately preceding student teaching. It provides knowledge and skills required for organizing and directing various instructional strategies in the secondary classroom. Content includes teaching strategies, approaches to classroom management and discipline, student motivation, student and teacher assessment and evaluation, and the use of media and technology in the classroom. Instruction, assignments, directed field experience and other class activities may take place on site in a school setting. Prerequisite(s): Junior standing, admission to teacher education, and completion of or concurrent enrollment in all education coursework excluding student teaching. Course Typically Offered: Fall and Spring.
