** Transfer course offered by NT752 ** 5840. Engaging Students in Learning. 3 hours (0;0;3). This introduction to teaching in the school focuses on the circumstances of contemporary students, the qualities and practices of teachers who engage students in learning, and on schools as communities of learning for students and professionals. Teacher practices in classroom management and organization and focusing learning through assessment are emphasized. A field experience is included. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the teacher education program, a child / adolescent / lifespan development course, and an educational-application computer course.
