Examination of issues related to assessment of language proficiency and cognitive abilities of EC-12 English language learners, including the importance of appropriate diagnostic testing to the teaching and learning process; also, a review of potential cultural bias in EC-12 assessment; procedures for assessing eligibility of EC-12 students for special language programs. Prerequisite(s): EDBE 5560 or consent of department.
