Catalog description

3 Credit Hours. This course provides foundational knowledge in bilingual and ESL education by examining federal and state policies and teaching practices that impact English Language Learners (ELLs) or emergent bilingual students. Students explore the history of educational policies at both the national and state levels, analyzing how historical events and educational ideologies have shaped current programs and practices for linguistically diverse populations. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical instruction and assessment. Requirements: Must have successfully completed EDUC 3330 and be admitted to the teacher certification program. Typically Offered: Spring, Summer and Fall
