(3335) 3 hours. Study of first and second language concepts, development theories, and models, with emphasis on content area instruction and assessment. Students will explore effective teaching methods and strategies to promote biliteracy development while actively engaging emergent bilingual students in learning. Course content includes understanding and applying the four linguistic domains (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) across academic and social contexts in Spanish. Required for EC-6 Bilingual education programs certification. The content of this course is delivered in Spanish language. Prerequisites: Must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. Course Typically Offered: Fall and Spring.
