3 hours (3;0;0). Spanish language skills needed in the professional fields to communicate orally or in writing with clientele. Emphasizes specialized vocabulary, gestures and cultural understanding. Topics may include the specialized languages of law enforcement, human services, education, public health, communications industry, etc. Prerequisite(s): Completion of Spanish lower division courses or equivalent; near-native fluency; or departmental permission.
