(4323) 3 hours. This course is aimed at equipping students with the necessary knowledge, values, and skills to work in social work practice with individuals, families, and small groups. The course is focused on preparing students to work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds as well as marginalized or oppressed populations. Throughout the course, students will learn therapeutic skills that enable them to engage with individuals and families, identify and prioritize issues, set mutually developed goals, and commit to the change process. Prerequisites: Students must have completed SOWK 2311 and SOWK 2312 with a grade of C or better. Corequisites: must take SOWK 3321, SOWK 3333, and SOWK 3313 Course Typically Offered: Fall and Spring
