5390. 3 hours (3;0;0). Workshop teaches current and future public managers how to operate a government agency on a day-to-day basis. Managerial practices include the meaning of public service, communication in the public sector, making effective presentations, facilitating effective meetings, executive-legislative relations, citizen relations, media relations, and ethics. To be taken during the last semester of course work. Prerequisite(s): Must have completed PLDR 5320, PLDR 5030, PLDR 5400, PLDR 5330, PLDR 5370, PLDR 5353; and additional 9 hours of 5000 level courses in EMSA, PADM, or PLDR; and consent of theMSPL program coordinator. Course Typically Offered: Fall and Spring.
