Examination of how biological form changes over time, including embryological development from fertilization to tissue differentiation, as well as post-embryological development, including growth, aging, regeneration, and metamorphosis. Topics include cell commitment, patterning, organogenesis, limb development, sex determination, stem cells, metamorphosis, aging, environmental factors, disease development, developmental mechanisms of evolutionary change, model organisms, and ethical questions relevant to the field. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 1710, BIOL 1720, BIOL 1730, and BIOL 1740. Course typically offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
