4040. 3 hours. Provides overview of crisis intervention from the perspectives of a host of intervention organizations and professionals. Reviews the tactics, techniques, behaviors, emotions and motivations of those who intervene or negotiate in crisis situations as well as those who intervene or negotiate in crisis situations as well as those of persons who precipitate such actions and their victims. Students will be introduced to professionals who negotiate interventions in suicide, workplace and domestic conflict situations. They will also review existing research and practices about such interventions. Course Typically Offered: Spring.
