This course examines the forms of electronically-mediated communication, also referred to as "e-languages" (e.g., emails, texts, tweets, emoji, memes) to understand its communicative, social, political, and affective functions in society. A particular focus is to compare e-languages to other conventions of written and spoken English. Prerequisite(s): none. Course Typically Offered: Fall.
