3310. 3 hours (3;0;0). This course covers the history of Dallas by examining the historical, social, cultural, economic, and political institutions and processes in various periods. It is designed to introduce students to the Dallas population diversities, as well as the diversities of intellectual viewpoints about Dallas. A brief historical examination will introduce the main focus of the course, Dallas leadership during the 1970s and will explore how local decision making evolved to include public, private, and community leadership. Guest speakers and field trips will complement class sessions. Course Typically Offered: On demand.
