(4390) 3 hours. This course guides students through the research process in forensic and investigative science, emphasizing research design, methodology, data analysis, and scientific writing. Students learn to develop research questions, conduct literature reviews, formulate hypotheses, select appropriate methods, and apply ethical research practices. The course is structured around key milestones, including a research proposal, data collection or analysis plan, and peer review. Students complete a culminating research paper that demonstrates their ability to synthesize findings and communicate results in a professional format. Prerequisites: Student must be pursuing a Criminal Justice B.S. Course Typically Offered: Fall.
