(3311) 3 hours. This course prepares students to write clear, accurate, and legally defensible forensic reports that document investigative activities, observations, methodologies, and conclusions. Emphasis is placed on organizing complex information, expressing expert opinions, identifying uncertainties, and supporting conclusions using the scientific method. Students learn to distinguish between fact and opinion, address limitations, and incorporate appropriate documentation such as photographs, sketches, and evidence logs. The course also explores the relationship between reports and testimony, ensuring that reports can support deposition and courtroom examination. Prerequisites: TECM 2700.
