(4320) 3 hours. This course is designed to provide students with an in-depth study of methods and materials essential for effective teaching practice in elementary social studies. Topics include but are not limited to perceptions and perspectives in the social studies, curriculum standards, lesson development, interdisciplinary/integrated curriculum planning, use of literature in the social studies, specific group strategies, and instructional technology. Prerequisites: Acceptance to Early Field Experience. Course Typically Offered: Fall and Spring.
