Clinical Anatomy & Pathophysiology of Injury.

Catalog description

This graduate-level course integrates clinical anatomy with the pathophysiology of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular injuries commonly encountered in physically active populations. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between anatomical structures, injury mechanisms, physiological responses to trauma, overuse, and disease, and how these factors inform clinical decision making. Students will engage in review and interpretation of medical imaging (e.g., radiographs, MRI, ultrasound) to identify anatomical structures and pathological changes, as well as examine common surgical interventions and their anatomical and pathophysiological implications. Through interactive lectures, small-group activities, and case-based analysis, students will develop clinically relevant understanding to support injury recognition, differential considerations, and interdisciplinary communication.
