Catalog description

Introduction to the principles and engineering of quantum circuits and systems. Topics include qubits, quantum gates and measurement, quantum circuit design, quantum algorithms and annealing, physical realization of qubits, noise and decoherence, fault-tolerant design, and error detection and correction with syndrome extraction. Coursework incorporates simulation and analysis using QASM to explore practical aspects of quantum hardware and system behavior. Prereq or Coreq: Junior standing or higher. Dual-listing: ECE 659 .
