Global Health Methods

Catalog description
This course introduces the methodological approaches and techniques used in global health research, including explanations and examples of what is required for field work, implementing surveillance programs, and experimental designs, including the need for risk analysis, intervention trials, and program evaluation. Students will explore the strengths and weaknesses of each methodology, identifying how best to determine the most appropriate method for specific research questions. The course will take a problem-based approach, emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of global health research. This course can count toward the Global Health Certificate. It requires a current graduate standing at NCSU or a professional student within the College of Veterinary Medicine.
