Small Animal Nephrology and Urology

Catalog description

This advanced clinical course in veterinary nephrology and urology is designed to build a strong foundational knowledge while advancing clinical reasoning skills through a case-based, problem-oriented approach. Students will develop a deeper understanding of disorders such as acute and chronic kidney disease, lower urinary tract disorders, and urolithiasis, with an emphasis on diagnosis, pathophysiology, and evidence-based management. By the end of the rotation, students will have enhanced confidence in clinical decision-making, improved ability to recognize patterns of disease, and a deeper understanding of renal and urinary pathophysiology. This course is offered to students that have completed their required Small Animal Internal Medicine course ( VMC 954 ).
