Catalog description

This course will compare and contrast observational vs experimental studies -- including scope of inference, their use cases, and an introduction into their designs. It will provide an overview of fundamental experimental designs and sampling methods, their proper application, and the effects of the collection method on potential analyses. This course will emphasize critical thinking through analysis and critique of design applications, including ethical implications, under various conditions. Software may be used to support the design of surveys and experiments, but no prior statistical software use is required.
