Catalog description

Advanced analysis and forecasting of synoptic and mesoscale weather systems, with emphasis on modern careers. Diagnosis and prediction using quasi-geostrophic theory and isentropic analysis. Use of soundings, hodographs, radar, and satellite imagery for analysis and forecasting of mesoscale phenomena. Prediction of high-impact weather, including tropical cyclones, winter weather, and severe convective storms. Understanding numerical weather prediction (NWP) models and synthesizing output with physical reasoning.
