Catalog description

This is a project-based course directly working with small (fewer than 500 employees) biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. It builds on knowledge and skills introduced in MB 585 , but with increased independence and autonomy. The class will further explore issues in biotechnology including funding, intellectual property, regulatory affairs, and commercialization. Students work in teams on a company-specific project with input from their industry mentor. In addition, students will participate in the campus-wide CATALYZE Conference pitch competition. Written, oral, and visual communication skills as well as teamwork, flexibility, and ambiguity management are emphasized. Restricted to MMB students.
