Catalog description

This course introduces the principles and applications of automated manufacturing systems with a focus on modern industrial practices. Topics include manufacturing control loops, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and real-time control using counters, timers, and PC-PLC coding. Students will learn to design and program sequential and synchronous control systems, integrate human-machine interfaces, and apply robotics in manufacturing automation, gaining hands-on experience with Industrial manipulators. The course also examines material handling, assembly, and robotics technologies for flexible manufacturing systems. Upon completing the course, students will be equipped to analyze, design, and implement automation solutions that enhance efficiency, flexibility, and productivity in advanced manufacturing environments.
