The 19th century: the era of Santa Anna, the war with the United States, the Reform, the French intervention, and the dictatorship of Profirio Diaz. The 1910 Revolution and the resulting transformation of Mexico's political, social and economic institutions. Reading knowledge of Spanish helpful but not required.
