Attention to the major economic, social, political, environmental and cultural forces that shaped American agriculture from the 16th century to 21st century. Discussion of the role of technological change and evolution of governmental policy in U.S. agriculture. Exposure to major episodes demonstrating fundamental changes and continuities in U.S. agriculture. Discussion of the diversity of American farmers and farmworkers and their struggles for equality and access.
