Authors studied may include Alexander Pope, Anna Laetitia Barbauld, Charlotte Smith, Olaudah Equiano, William Blake, Dorothy Wordsworth, William Wordsworth, George Gordon, Lord Byron, Mary Shelley, Percy B. Shelley, John Keats, Felicia Hemans, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Matthew Arnold, Elizabeth B. Browning, Robert Browning, Christina Rossetti, Dante G. Rossetti, Oscar Wilde, and Gerard Manley Hopkins.
