Catalog description

Since it was first created, our planet and eventually the life it supported have changed continuously or abruptly through time. In recent years, humans have accelerated the rates that we are changing global processes, and in many cases, this has had negative impacts on ecological systems, including humans. In this course, we will explore the causes and consequences of global change, with particular emphasis on ecological systems. The knowledge and skills you develop in this class will be beneficial in future careers in ecology, natural resource management, conservation, policy, public health, and science communication, as well as daily life as a human living on a changing planet. In particular, this course is designed to help undergraduate students develop the tools to integrate interdisciplinary information, solve problems, and think critically about topics related to global change.
