Catalog description

This course develops the understanding of the role of social workers with clients within the criminal justice system and legal system. This course will focus on theory, evidence-based practice, intervention, and advocacy with diverse justice-involved populations including offenders, victims, juveniles, and related systems. This course assumes a strengths-based, systemic and interdisciplinary approach. Social work majors must complete this course with a minimum of grade C. PREREQ: Completion of SWK 2000 recommended.
