Catalog description
This course is designed to provide students with the necessary foundation or pre-practice skills to proceed as a generalist social worker. This course introduces students with the history of social work ethics and values. Students learn a basic understanding of social work ethical decision-making frameworks and their application to ethical dilemmas. This course introduces students to basic interviewing skills to assess the strengths and needs of diverse populations. Social work majors must complete this course with a minimum of grade C. PREREQ: SWK 2000, 2450, 3050, 3450, and 3480 COREQ: SWK 3810, 4450, 3900
