Catalog description
This course offers a foundation in the basic areas of linguistics: phonology, phonetics, morphology, syntax, and semantic aspects of Spanish, as well as dialectical and sociolectal differences in present-day Spanish. Students are also introduced to pedagogical grammar, a subfield of Applied Linguistics. Students will learn analytical tools and apply them to the scientific study of Spanish. PREREQ: Permission of the Spanish Program Director
