Catalog description

This course will introduce students to a sociological perspective on families utilizing current social science research. Students will examine what constitutes family, how families influence individuals, and how families are influenced by social institutions and culture in contemporary society. Topics addressed will include intimate relationships and marriage, parenting, divorce, and family violence.
