Catalog description

Curriculum theory and instructional practices and processes as they relate to the secondary science classroom. Subjects covered include literacy, inquiry, scientific argumentation, orchestrating the laboratory (including lab safety), utilizing technology and internet resources, equity, cultural diversity, how to meet the needs of diverse learners, science assessments, rubrics, and designing engaging lessons aligned with the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards (CCSS and NGSS). Limited to MAT students only. This course includes field experience.
