Early Laboratory Experiences for Prospective Science Teachers

Catalog description

This course offers an introduction to the role of the laboratory in science teaching. This course includes research on laboratory use in K-12 schools, familiarity of lab safety and liability issues in the classroom, development of inquiry-based activities, and the planning, execution, and evaluation of laboratory lessons while identifying and meeting the needs of diverse learners. Field Experience within a local science classroom is required. Laboratory and seminar.
