This course is an in‐depth study of theory, research, and pedagogy related to the racial, ethnic, gender, and socioeconomic aspects of diversity and how these impact student achievement and teacher expectations. The need for multicultural education and culturally responsive teaching is emphasized; related strategies are explored. Field experience is required.
