Foundations of Reading

Catalog description

This course focuses on foundational literacy instruction. Emphasis will be placed on scientifically-based reading models, data-driven instruction, and differentiated instruction for diverse learners. Assessment and instruction for the following literacy topics is included in the course: language development, phonemic/phonological awareness, phonics, orthography, encoding/decoding, morphology, and vocabulary.
