Catalog description

Supervised work (paid or unpaid) at an internship site related to psychology. Amount of credit given will be agreed upon prior to registration and will depend on the number of hours committed to the internship site. Each 1 credit hour is equal to 45 hours of work in a semester/session. Credit will range from 1-3 credit hours and cannot exceed 3 hours for completion of the degree. PREREQ: Must be a Psychology major, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (both overall and within psychology), have completed at least 9 hours in Psychology at UNCP and 60 hours towards graduation at the time of application. A written plan of the internship experience including the signature of the faculty sponsor and internship supervisor must be approved by the Department Chair no later than two weeks prior to registration.
