Three-dimensional vector and tensor calculus. Green’s and Stokes’ theorems. Vector spaces, linear independence, orthogonality. Hermitian and unitary operators. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors of operators, function spaces as vector spaces, and elements of the theory of distributions. PREREQ: C- or better in PHY 2010
