This course offers a broad survey of ethical questions surrounding artificial intelligence and data collection, including topics such as whether AI systems can or should have moral rights, the ethical implications of algorithmic bias, concerns about data privacy, and the deployment of AI technologies in warfare and other high-stakes contexts. Students will be introduced to critical ethical concerns related to the use of AI both in the classroom and in wider society, examined through the lenses of philosophy and religion.
