Pediatrics in Occupational Therapy I

Catalog description

This course will focus on typical human development from conception through young adulthood. Students will study key developmental domains including motor, cognitive, sensory, perceptual, adaptive, play, and social skills; emotional and behavioral regulation; and the typical sequence of skill acquisition and developmental milestones. An emphasis on referral, screening, and evaluation/assessment portions of the occupational therapy process will introduce the occupational performance and participation of children from the perspective of the child’s development, individual skills, and environmental influences.
