Introduction to Statistics

Catalog description

Elementary statistics, descriptive and inferential. Graphing data sets, finding measures of center, position, and dispersion. Probability, distributions, Central Limit Theorem. Parametric estimation, sampling and hypothesis testing including z-test, student’s test, F-test and Chi-Square test. Regression, correlation, ANOVA. The use of Excel or a statistical package is an integral part of the course. PREREQ: MAT 1070 or sufficient score on the math placement test.
