Catalog description

KIN 3200 is a lecture course that provides an overview of the rules and mechanics of officiating various sports to support the development of coaches as well as encourage participation in officiating. Sports covered include baseball/softball, football, volleyball, tennis, track & field, wrestling, and soccer. Other content provided explores philosophical issues with rule changes, use of technology to prevent officiating mistakes and the issue of fan intrusion in athletic events. Students will also be exposed to the various organizations that govern high school, intercollegiate athletics and professional sports leagues.
